LTL Freight Match

How LTL Freight Match works

A short, complete description of what happens after you submit a shipment — including the parts we have nothing to do with.

The five steps

  1. You describe the shipment. Lane, freight, access, timing, contact. Four short steps, and none of them ask for anything a carrier would not need.
  2. The request is structured. Your answers are turned into the format providers price from, so nobody has to come back and ask what a class or an access type means.
  3. It reaches providers. The request is passed to independent transportation providers equipped for that lane and that kind of freight.
  4. They contact you. Directly, usually by phone, because a dimension question is faster asked than typed. They quote; we do not.
  5. You decide. You choose a provider, or none of them. Nothing is booked on your behalf and nothing happens automatically.

What this platform does not do

Stating this plainly is more useful than any reassurance we could write.

  • We do not move freight. No trucks, no terminals, no drivers.
  • We do not hold operating authority as a carrier or a broker.
  • We do not issue rates, quotes or bills of lading.
  • We do not guarantee that a provider will respond, or that capacity exists on your lane.
  • We do not handle claims. Claims are between you and the carrier that moved the freight.

What happens to your details

Your shipment details are shared with providers so they can contact you about that shipment. That is the purpose, it is the only purpose, and it is set out in full in the privacy policy.

Nothing is sold to advertisers. No box is pre-ticked. The consent checkbox is the consent — there is no second, quieter permission hidden behind it.

How this is paid for

Providers pay to receive qualified shipment requests. You pay nothing, and what you are quoted is set by the provider, not by us.

That model has an obvious incentive attached, so it is worth saying what we do about it: the pages on this site are written to be useful whether or not you ever submit anything. Several of them explain how to avoid needing a provider at all.

Start with the shipment

Four steps, no account, and nothing booked on your behalf.

LTL Freight Match is an independent freight intake platform. It is not a carrier, not a broker, and it does not move freight, issue rates or guarantee capacity.
